Review: NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation.

Hello everyone! I´m so sorry for being M.I.A, but it has been a crazy time on the job, and my health is a little bit not in point... But today I gathered forces and wrote a new post for you.

I´m back with another review! I would have love to upload a new makeup look, but I´m trying new makeup stuff that I got and I´m working with that to create looks and give you some ideas for spring makeup (and don´t forget that I love soooo much dark colors and this time of the year with such a bright colors it´s not one of my favourites).

This time I´m going to talk about a foundation that caught my eye, because I´ve only read good stuff on every place on social media. And because my foundation was very near to be finished I decided to go on a walk on the mall and visit the NARS stand.

The foundation is one of the latest products of the brand. New formulation and stuff that I will tell you about in a second.
My mainly problem with NARS is that even they have a perfect shade for my skin, my own skin oxidize the foundation, and that always makes me go back before buying it. But this time I went for it and decided to buy the new foundation.

The makeup girl from the stand was so nice and offered me to try it on my skin. She told me that it´s a long lasting foundation, weightless with full natural coverage. It has special pigments to make it so light on the skin and green and gold pigments to conceal rednesses and dullness.

It´s a liquid foundation, and for a better result on the skin they recommend you to apply it with your fingers after warming it.
Also, it´s non-comedogenic, oil-free and doesn´t have any alcohol or fragance.

I wore the foundation on half of my face for a day and loved the finish. So, the next day I went straight to buy it. The price it´s expensive, here on my country it costs 43€ (but for a mistake on the bar code label I got it for 39€, still so expensive!).

It comes on a crystal jar and it´s very heavy, and you have to shake it before using very well. My shade is the Light 1 Siberia, the lightest one.

On the skin it feels amazingly comfortable and super weightless, so that´s true.

The redness on my skin was very concealed for the first 3 hours, after that it started to show up again.

But my biggest disappointment it´s that after 3-4 hours, on the nose and cheek areas, the foundation gets very cakey and the shines comes trough. And when you tough it up it gets totally worst, the powder makes it look even more cakey and looks awful.

I´ve tried with facial primer, no primer, different finishing powders and the results still being the same.

The only remedy that it´s giving me some kind of good results it´s to mix this foundation with another one that I have from L´Oréal, the Nude Magique Eau de Teint, It lasts much better.

To finish, my opinion is that it´s a very good foundation, but not for oily skins. The only positive points that I found it´s how good conceals, that it´s weightless and the shade is just perfect for my skin. But if you have oily skin, my advice for you it´s to stay away from this foundation!

Hope you liked it, and I´ll see you very soon!

Review: L´Oréal Nude Magique EAU DE TEINT

Hi there!
Today I´m back with a new reeview that I was looking forward to do, so there I go!

The review is about the Nude Magique Eau de Teint foundation by L´Oréal. I´m always looking for new foundations, because my skin get used to the one I use frequently very easy and that ends with bad reactions from my skin for the foundation (so that means that I always have to be using 2 foundations at the same time, and alternate them).

One of the makeup artist that works on my L´Oréal store recommend it to me (I´ve known here for ages and she knows me pretty well) and I decided to give it a try. And let me tell you something, it really surprised me.
I was looking for a light coverage foundation, because all the ones that I have are medium to full coverage. I thought that I was going to have trouble to get used to a lighter foundation, but no, it has been a great change!

It´s a liquid base, that promises a weightless feel and a very natural skin.

The best thing is that both statements are totally true. You don´t feel at all the makeup and the finish is totally flawless and nude. And it dries matt, so for oily skins like mine, that´s so good.

It last perfect on the face for a good 4 hours, after that you can really see the shine coming out.

It blends perfectly with any other product that you put on top.

The only problem that I saw is that you really have to find the perfect amount that you have to apply on your skin, because if you apply more than you need, it looks super dark and you feel the skin very heavy.

My shade is the lightest one, 100 Porcelain. It has a SPF of 18 and the quantity of product is 20ml.

Is a foundation that I totally recommend to you if you like a natural nude makeup with light coverage.

Hope you liked it, and see you on the next post!

Get Ready With Me!

Hi everyone!

Tody I´m going to make a "Get Ready With Me" post about the makeup that I wear yesterday when I went to the movies with my girlfriends! We saw "Now You See Me..." and it´s amazing!! I recommend you to watch it, you won´t regret it at all.

So, let´s get started!

First, I clean my skin with the "Herbalism" facial mask, later I clean the rests of the mask with my Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash and apply some Tea Tree Water skin tonic. After  the skin tonic was complete absorved by my skin, I apply my Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Gel and wait for a few minutes until my skin was totally dry and not sticky for applying my makeup.

I did a very simple makeup, you can call it naked o washed face.

First, I applied my Face and Body foundation in C1 with a contour brush from Real Techniques. I used this brush because I like the finish that gave to the foundation on my skin, and because is very gentle and soft. After that, I took my 286 Duo Fibre Blending Brush for applying my Illamasqua Concealer in CC 115 and took my Beauty Blender dupe for a total blending (this concealer is very pale in comparison with the foundation that I used, so I don´t wanted to look like a panda but in white concealer haha!) After all, I set everything with my very used (as you can see) Collection Pressed Podwer in 18 Ivory with my 15BJF Inglot brush (is a blush brush, but I love to use it for podwer)

For the rest of the face I kept it simple, just some light cheek contour using Harmony and my 109 Small Contour Brush by MAC (this brush is one of my favourites ever!) and I use Stunner blush (satin finish) with my 168 Large Angled Contour Brush. For highlight, I put a little bit of Shroom with the 227 Large Fluff Brush on top of the cheeks.

After that I took my 212 Flat Definer Brush and with Concrete eyeshadow, for filling and define my eyebrows.

On the eyes, I apply with my ring finger a bit of Bare Study Painpot, and let it set for a minute. Later, with the lightest eyeshadow of this quad by Kiko (Color Fever Eyeshadow Palette, I got this a long time ago) I applied it all over the lid with my 213 Fluff Brush, blending any harsh line. After that I curled my lashes and put some mascara.

For the lips I used Whirl lipliner by MAC and MUA lipstick in shade 14.

Sorry I can put you a finish look photo, I didn´t take any! But this is one photo with the same look from a while ago, with the exact same products (is one of my favourite looks, as you can see)

Hope you like the post!

See you on the next one,
Lor.

Makeup travel bag

Hello everyone!

Well, sorry for the lack of post, I´ve been so busy! But today I´m back with a post that you may like it.

I don´t know if this happens to you, but every single time I have to fly, I hate packing my makeup. I can´t decide what to leave, what to take with me... And normally I pack way more makeup that I need. But, when I travel, I like to take with me on my purse a little bag with the basic stuff that allow me to do my makeup if I need to, and don´t look like a ghost in the middle of the airport.

The first thing you obviously need is a vanity case, but not so big. Mine is a little one that I found a long ago in Primark that have the perfect size for my purse and I can carry everything inside.

One of the things that I think you really need is makeup remover wipes (on travel size, of course!) and some moisturizer cream. I always like to clean my face with one wipe and apply my cream when the flight starts, and keep my skin hydrated for the whole flight.

I like to have too hand wipes to clean my hands after applying my cream. You don´t want to have your hands sticky all the time!

And then, I have my makeup. I do prefer to travel with compact makeup, because for the pressure of the flight, any crystal pot can explode and cause a big mess (that happened to me once, my Studio Fix explode inside my bag, and you can´t imagine how horrible is that!). Because there is usually a big change of temperature inside the plane, I also prefer to take a solid concealer and not liquid (also, one of my liquid concealers got bad on a flight, from that day on, always a solid concealer!). I carry my normal podwer for setting my foundation, a bronzer and a set from MAC that has highlighter and blush on the same box, with a mirror.

My pressed podwer from Collection

This one is Terracotta Bronzer by Guerlain

Hocus Pocus set from the Holiday Collection of 2009 from MAC

Then I have my eyebrow palette (cause I do my eyebrows with eyeshadow), my mascara of the moment and my paint pot from mac that I can use as an eyeshadow. Also I have my lash curler.

My mascara, They´re Real by Benefit
This is my palette fro travelling.

The lash curler from MAC

And for brushes I have a very tiny travel set from Bobbi Brown, that has every brush that I need and I don´t have to carry the big ones.

Mini Brush set from Bobbi Brown, Holiday Collection from 2010

If I need to use any eyeshadow, I like to put on my eyebrow palette a neutral one (like Patina or Satine Taupe) a highlighter (Shroom is my all time favourite) and some black (Carbon is the one that I usually take). But if you can carry a big palette, I like to take with me my Naked 2 palette.

For lips, depending on the day, but I like to have a dark color and a gloss, so I can wear whatever I want in that moment (that usually is the darker color)

So that is what I carry on my bag when I travel, hope you like the post, and see you on the next one! And for those who are travelling soon, safe flight!

Back to Basics!

Hi everyone!!

Well, the other day I talk to you about my new foundation of Revlon, and how much I liked it. But lately I´ve been back to one foundation that have been on my makeup set for a long time, that I´ve used for a very long time and now, with this hot days I remember why I loved it so much and I began to use it again.

I know that for a lot (and I includ myself in that lot) this foundation is a Holy Grail. Is the one and only "Face and Body" by MAC.

This foundation comes in almost every single skin color, from the fairest to the darkest ones. And what I like the most of this foundation is that you have the whole range of colors for a pink undertoned skins and for yellow undertoned skins.

I discovered this foundation a long time ago, almost when I started to do makeup, but I never buy it because I wasn´t sure about it. So one day, I was in a serious need of foundation for a catwalk, so I wen to MAC to get something. I am so lucky that I know a lot of the makeup artist that work in there, so when one of them recommend me to get the "Face and Body" I didn´t doubt it for a second. I got the C1 and the C5, because you can play with the colors, mix it and get the perfect tone of foundation for yourt model/client. The MAC girl also told me to try it on myself and tell her how it worked for that long day of work in the catwalk.

It turned out that I covered all the shades of skins that I have to work with that day (I got a lot of different models, from a very fair skin to a very dark tan one) and for the photos that they got it looks perfect. There were another makeup artist that didn´t use this foundation and the majority got flashback on camera. So I got very excited when the photographers told me I did a very good job with the makeup. Also the models were extremely happy about the skin effect.

From me, that day I did what the MAC girl recommend me, I put two layers of the foundation, apply some Mineralize Skinfinish and in the end of the day, the foundation looked very good! (more than 14 hours, for me was a record!) I used a Buffing Brush from Real Techniques to to apply it.

I began to used it almost for my everyday makeup routine, but I wanted to try more foundations, so I left this one on my kit, and get another ones.

After all this hot days, I was thinking on get a new foundation, when I remember I have the "Face and Body". Obviously I didn´t get a new one, and since that day, I´m wearing that one every single day that I do my makeup. The only thing you have to be very careful is to work it very well on the skin and apply podwer on top, because it tend to shine a lot if you don´t podwer it correctly.

So if you´re looking for a foundation that doesn´t have flashback, for any skin color and that is buildable for color and coverage (this foundation has light to medium coverage, so the more you layer, the more coverage you get) this one is a great option! And now you have smaller size, perfect for single use of a person. ( the big size has 120 ml in the bottle and the smaller one has 50 ml) And for those who works with white foundation, they also have a white version on the bigger size.

Hope you like the post, see you on the next one!

Revlon Photoready Foundation

Hi there everybody!

Today I´m back with a review of one of the latest foundations I´ve been using during this last month and a half.

The foundation, as you can guess by the title is the Revlon Photoready Foundation. I was really looking forward to try this foundation, because everybody talk great things about it and there are great reviews all over the internet. I didn´t get it before because on Spain we don´t have Revlon. So when I finished my Studio Fix by MAC, I decided to give it a try and see how it was this foundation.

They have like MAC, a few tones with more pink undertone and another few with yellow undertone. I got mine in 002 Vanilla. It really matches my skin color almost totally, which is very surprising for me, I´ve never found before a drugstore foundation that matches my skin color in that way. The foundation is suposed to be medium coverage, and for me, is near to the full coverage if you apply two layers on the skin.

I´ve been applying it with my Real Tecniques Stippling Brush, and the only thing you must be careful when you are applying it is that you have to be fast, because if you let it dry, it would leave a line impossible to blend. Once I have it on, I always apply my Collection Pressed Podwer in 18 Ivory, that matchs very good the shade of the foundation.

The foundation really last longer without any touch up, almost 6 hours looking good! And that for my skin (I have a very sensitive, oily skin and acne... ) is a total challenge, believe me.

I was really happy, but a few weeks ago we have here in the UK a very hot summer days. I apply the foundations and those days it was horrible the result on the skin. The foundation literally melts on my skin, and with the podwer on top looks very caky. And the worst thing was that felt incredibly heavy on my skin.

Out of that, I am very happy with this foundation, and one of the things I like the most of this foundation is that on photo looks amazing! And everybody had a lot of compliments about the shade and how it looks so natural on my skin.

So if you´re looking for a long lasting foundation that have a very high SPF (20!) and that doesn´t flash back in photos I really recommend you this one, I´m sure you will love it =).

Hope you like the post, and see you on the next one!
