Favourite Concealers

¿Cómo estáis? Espero que muy bien, yo aun sigo un poco constipada y es un horror. A todos los que ya estáis de vuelta a la (cruel) rutina, bienvenidos y a los que aun os quedan unos días, aprovechadlos, que las siguientes vacaciones están un poco lejos todavía.

Hoy vengo con un post que ya llevaba tiempo con el en mente, y que por fin he tenido tiempo de escribir.
Os voy a enseñar mis correctores favoritos, porque sinceramente, es uno de mis productos básicos a la hora de maquillaje y que mas me gusta usar. Hay de todo un poco, de precio más alto y precio más económico, para cubrir todas las posibilidades.

Para mi, los correctores son muy importantes, no sólo por el hecho de que cubran imperfecciones, si no también porque nos ayudan a dar luz al rostro, a poder potenciar rasgos (¿quién puede decir que no a unos pómulos bien iluminados?) y también a realizar el contorno, correcciones, etc.

Una de las características principales que busco en un corrector es su cobertura. Siempre los he usado de cobertura media a alta, ya que mi piel con menos de esa cobertura es como si no pusieras nada. A parte de eso, siempre suelo coger el corrector de uno a dos tonos mas claro que mi piel (lo cual a veces es muy complicado porque no hay tonos tan claros) para que aporte luz. Y mi acabado favorito es en crema, para poder aplicarlo con brocha.

Empecemos!

Unos de mis primeros correctores cuando empecé a estudiar maquillaje (hace ya muchos años y prefiero no pensar cuantos) fueron los Supra Color de Kryolan. Son correctores muy cubrientes (realmente están diseñados para TV y cine, no para uso diario) pero si los trabajas bien puedes usarlos diariamente. Estos prefiero usarlos en ocasiones muy especiales, cuando llevo una base de maquillaje muy cubriente y me hago un maquillaje completo con correcciones oscuras y claras (es decir, un contorno a lo Kardashian). Se pueden comprar sueltos o en paleta. Mi paleta es de 6 correctores y me costó alrededor de unos 20€ largos.

Tonos 406 y 576.

Uno de mis favoritos por excelencia ha sido durante años el corrector Studio Finish de MAC. Mi tono era el NC15, de los mas claritos que hay en la gama de tonos. Es un corrector muy cubriente, fácil de trabajar (dedo, brocha o esponja) y ademas es resistente al agua. Cubre muy bien granitos y rojeces en general. Lo deje de usar por probar nuevos correctores y porque en verano, se me derritió el corrector en un viaje y lo tuve que tirar. Pero para sesiones de fotos es uno de mis favoritos. Os dejo una foto para que veáis como es.

Siguiendo con MAC, otro que he usado hasta hace nada que se me ha acabado, es el Pro Longwear en el tono NW20. Este corrector es fluido, de cobertura alta y lo que mas me gustó fue que el acabado era mate. Y además, aguanta durante horas sin problemas, incluso en verano. Con muy poca cantidad que apliques, tienes para cubrir las ojeras y granitos de sobra. Lo que no me acaba de convencer del todo es que viene en un bote de cristal y con dispensador, eso hace que casi la última parte del corrector no puedas terminarla, y para sacarlo es imposible hacerlo sin romper el bote... Es la única pega, por lo demás es un corrector genial. Os dejo una foto y lo veis, porque no se la hice antes de hacer el Back To MAC.

El siguiente le compré en Londres, a la par que compré mi base de Illamasqua. Es el Concealer en el tono CC 115, ahora ya no lo hacen, porque tienen otros tonos diferentes. Es un corrector de cobertura alta, muy fácil de trabajar también, pero es un poquito seco y mi manera favorita de aplicarlo era con el dedo. Cubre rojeces también y duraba bastantes horas sin hacer pliegues. El precio son 17.30€, pero al estar en rebajas a mi me salio por unos 12€ aproximadamente (10 libras).

Ahora estoy usando estos dos, el HD de NYX y el Liquid Concealer de Makeup Revolution de vez en cuando. El de NYX lo comparan con el Pro Longwear, y es similar, pero no igual, ya que no tiene el acabado mate, aún así es una buena opción si queréis probar algo parecido. Se trabaja bien, aunque para mi gusto le falta cobertura (dicen que es media, pero creo que es una media tirando a ligera) y mi tono es el CW 01 Porcelain. El de Makeup Revolution es de cobertura ligera, así que si tenéis ojeras no las va a tapar demasiado bien. Este diría que está más indicado para gente que casi no tenga ojera y busque algo para iluminar. El tono que cogí fue Fair.

How are you guys? I hope that you´re all ok (I still being sick ¬¬) and if you´re going back to school on this days (or work) I wish you the best for the first days!

Today, finally I got the chance to write about something I got in mind for a long time.
I am going to show you my favourite concealers, from drugstore to high end, so I cover all the options for prices.

For me, concealers are very important, not only for covering the "not so flawless" areas of the face, they help to give light to the face, to correct, to contour and to highlight your favourite parts of the face (who can say no to a good highlight on the cheeks?).

The most important thing that I look for on a concealer is the coverage, because my skin is a little bit problematic, and light coverages doesn´t work for me at all. So almost all of these concealers are going to be medium to high coverage. And I love cream concealers, more than any other, because for me they´re more comfortable to apply.

The first ones I´ve ever used were this, the Supra Color by Kryolan. They are designed for TV and cinema, so they´re full coverage. The format is on cream, very easy to work on the skin with any tool of your choice. For a daily makeup they can be so much, but well blended they can work. I prefer to use them when I do a full makeup face (for me o for any other person) using a foundation with good coverage. You can buy the color you want on itself or a palette. I have a palette of 6 colors and the price was around 20-25€.

The next one was my favourite for years, and is the Studio Finish concealer by MAC. It has a very good coverage, is a cream concealer and it´s very easy to work on the skin. It´s waterproof too, and covers very good redness and spots. I stop using this one to try new concealers and because on a trip my concealer melted and I threw it away. My shade was the NC15.

On MAC, another one of my favourites is the Pro Longwear concealer. This one is a liquid format, on a clear glass bottle with a pump. The coverage of this one is amazing, it lasts forever on the skin and it has matte finish. For blemishes and redness is great too. What I don´t like at all is the glass container and the fact that you can´t totally finish the product. My shade was the NW20.

Another one that I love is the Concealer by Illamasqua in the shade CC115. It has a great coverage, but this one I always applied it with my fingers because it was easier and helped me later to blend it with my foundation. Now this shade is discontinued. On sales, I paid about 10 pounds for it (the original price is 14.50 pounds).

Now I amd currently using the HD by NYX and sometimes the Makeup Revolution Liquid Concealer. The HD is usually compared to the Pro Longwear, but I tell you: is similar, not the same. The HD has a good coverage but doesn´t last as much and it doesn´t have matte finish. And the Makeup Revolution is a very light coverage, so if you have under eye circles... Not going to work at all, but for highlight it can make a good job.

Makeup Revolution Review

Qué tal estáis? Espero que muy bien y que no estéis pasando mucho calor.

Hoy vengo con un review de dos productos de una marca de la que aun no había probado nada: Makeup Revolution. Había oído hablar de ella por las paletas clon que tiene a las Naked de Urban Decay, y la verdad que de alguna sombra suelta, pero poco más.

En mi última visita a Primor (muy desastrosa por cierto, un trato horrible de parte de las dependientas... Soy a la única que le pasa?) vi que tenían el stand y fui a curiosear a ver que tenían, pero fue un poco decepcionante porque el stand estaba totalmente vacío y tenían muy pocas cosas. Pero hubo dos cosas que llamaron mi atención: los labiales mate y los correctores. Y como dicen luego, si no pruebas, no sabes que tal están las cosas, así que cogí ambas cosas.

Lo primero que me llamó la atención fue lo barato que era todo, el labial tenía un precio de 3.75€ y el corrector de 1.99€.

Como ya os he dicho, en el stand casi no había de nada, pero luego investigando en la web de Primor vi que había más colores del labial mate (en la tienda solo había dos) y correctores tienen 3 tonos (fair, medium y natural).

Empecemos con el corrector.
Mi corrector es del tono Fair, ya que el Medium era demasiado oscuro y el Natural no había ni tester para probarlo, pero el Fair me quedaba bastante bien.
Lo primero que me pasó al abrirlo fue que al sacar el aplicador, aparecieron pompitas dentro del bote y hacia mucho efecto ventosa.

La base de color del corrector es bastante neutra, no es demasiado amarillo, pero tampoco demasiado rosado.
La cobertura es ligera, si tenéis una ojera marcada (como yo) tendréis que aplicar dos capas de producto para que se cubra bien.

A la hora de aplicación es muy suave, se extiende fácilmente y funde muy bien con la piel y base de maquillaje. Para aplicarlo usé una esponjita.
En cuanto a duración, sin ningún tipo de retoque y en perfecto estado aguanta como unas 2-3 horas. A partir de ahí, al menos en mi piel, va desapareciendo y se empieza a ver la ojera. No es demasiado, pero si se puede apreciar que el corrector ha ido desapareciendo.
Había leído que la gente lo comparaba con el HD de Nyx, pero al menos para mí, el de Nyx tiene bastante mas cobertura.

De todas maneras, para el precio que tiene, no esta nada mal. Y si no tenéis mucha ojera, sin duda alguna os lo recomiendo.

Ahora vamos con el labial.
El labial es uno de los míticos líquidos acabado mate. Todo el mundo los esta comparando con los Matte Me de Sleek Makeup.
El tono que cogí es el Keep Lying for You, un tono morado muy bonito. En el envase parece mas suave, pero una vez aplicado es mas potente el color de lo que parece.

De nuevo, me pasó algo parecido como con el corrector al abrirlo, el efecto ventosa era impresionante y tuve que apretar una barbaridad para poder conseguir cerrarlo.
El aplicador es el común de los glosses, aunque un poco duro para mi gusto.

Y aquí viene el punto crucial. Estos labiales suelen secarse pronto, pero este según lo vas poniendo, se va secando, da igual lo rápida que seas. El problema es que eso te da muy poco margen de error (hacer unos labios deprisa y corriendo es imposible) y luego para retocarlo es toda una odisea también, porque cuesta eliminarlo de la piel y el aplicador no desliza demasiado bien. Sin embargo, con el de Sleek Makeup tienes mas tiempo y puedes retocarlo mejor.
Para que me quedase un color totalmente unificado he tenido que poner 3 capas de labial, lo que lo hace un tanto incomodo.

Y como con todos estos tipos de labiales, una vez que te desmaquillas, tienes que hidratar bien los labios porque los reseca bastante.
Pero a pesar de eso, el color me encanta y aunque sea un poco tortura aplicarlo... Se lo perdono.

En ambos productos lo que mas me ha gustado es el packaging, tapa negra, bote transparente y letras en color oro rosado. Lo que menos me ha gustado es que en labial el nombre está puesto en una pegatina muy pequeñita y muy complicada de encontrar.

He de decir que estoy muy contenta de haber probado estos dos productos y que me ha impresionado la calidad-precio en esta marca. Sin duda, en cuanto pueda, probaré algo nuevo.

How are you? I hope eveything is ok, and the summer weather is not so hot (here, it is, and so much!).

Today I am here with a review of a new brand of makeup for me, Makeup Revolution. I just heard a few things about it, most of all about the clon palettes that they have super similar to the Naked ones by Urban Decay and about their single eyeshadows, nothing else.

The last time I went shopping, I made the usual visit to one of my favourite drugstores, and I saw the stand of the brand there. Obviously I went straight to check it out, but it was a little disappointing because it was empty! They just had a few things here and there, and the only thing that caught my attention was this two products: a matte lipstick and a concealer. So I decided to give it a try and see how it was.

The first thing that really impressed me was the price, 3.75€ for the lipstick and 1.99€ for the concealer, super cheap!

After a little investigation on their website I found out that they have more shades for the lipstick (on the stand they only had two) and 3 shades for the concealer.

Let´s get started with the concealer.
My shade is on Fair, the other two were so dark for my skin (they had a Medium and a Natural shade).
The first thing that happened was that when I opened it, the product got air bubbles inside and you have to press really hard to close it, and it makes a weird suction effect.
The shade is very neutral, not going so yellow or pink.
It has a very light coverage, so if you had a very dark circles, you will have to apply two layers of the concealer to cover it well.
It´s very easy and smooth to apply, and it blends very good with the skin and the foundation.
During 2-3 hours it looks perfect on the skin, but after that it started to disappear on my skin.
People compare this one to the HD by Nyx, but the Nyx one for me has better coverage.
I think that is a great concealer if you don´t have very dark circles, plus is very cheap, so I will totally recommend this one.

Now, let´s go for the lipstick.
The lipstick is a liquid one that turns totally matte.
My shade is "Keep Lying From You" a very beautiful purple shade that looked super soft on the tube, but once you put it on is darker.
Again, the suction effect was really annoying, I had to press super hard to close it!
The aplicator is the usual one that comes with the glosses. But for me, it was a little bit stiff.
And now, the important stuff about this lipstick: it dries extremely fast. While you´re putting it on the lips, it gets dry, and even if you hurry, it doesn´t matter because it keeps getting dry super fast. I like to get a perfect shape for the lips, and this drying fast makes it so difficult. To get an opic lip colour you have to put at least 2 to 3 layers, but the color looks amazing.
Of course, after removing your lips, don´t forget to put some balm because it dries the skin of the lips a little.
Despite drying so fast and having to put 3 layers of product, I still loving the colour, so I forgive any mistake.

What I loved the most on both things was the packaging: black handle, clear bottle and golden rose letters, so cool!

I am so happy that I decided to give a try this two products, and I will try more of this brand in a future, for sure.

Get Ready With Me!

Hi everyone!

Tody I´m going to make a "Get Ready With Me" post about the makeup that I wear yesterday when I went to the movies with my girlfriends! We saw "Now You See Me..." and it´s amazing!! I recommend you to watch it, you won´t regret it at all.

So, let´s get started!

First, I clean my skin with the "Herbalism" facial mask, later I clean the rests of the mask with my Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash and apply some Tea Tree Water skin tonic. After  the skin tonic was complete absorved by my skin, I apply my Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Gel and wait for a few minutes until my skin was totally dry and not sticky for applying my makeup.

  

I did a very simple makeup, you can call it naked o washed face.

First, I applied my Face and Body foundation in C1 with a contour brush from Real Techniques. I used this brush because I like the finish that gave to the foundation on my skin, and because is very gentle and soft. After that, I took my 286 Duo Fibre Blending Brush for applying my Illamasqua Concealer in CC 115 and took my Beauty Blender dupe for a total blending (this concealer is very pale in comparison with the foundation that I used, so I don´t wanted to look like a panda but in white concealer haha!) After all, I set everything with my very used (as you can see) Collection Pressed Podwer in 18 Ivory with my 15BJF Inglot brush (is a blush brush, but I love to use it for podwer)

 

For the rest of the face I kept it simple, just some light cheek contour using Harmony and my 109 Small Contour Brush by MAC (this brush is one of my favourites ever!) and I use Stunner blush (satin finish) with my 168 Large Angled Contour Brush. For highlight, I put a little bit of Shroom with the 227 Large Fluff Brush on top of the cheeks.

After that I took my 212 Flat Definer Brush and with Concrete eyeshadow, for filling and define my eyebrows.

On the eyes, I apply with my ring finger a bit of Bare Study Painpot, and let it set for a minute. Later, with the lightest eyeshadow of this quad by Kiko (Color Fever Eyeshadow Palette, I got this a long time ago) I applied it all over the lid with my 213 Fluff Brush, blending any harsh line. After that I curled my lashes and put some mascara.

 

 

For the lips I used Whirl lipliner by MAC and MUA lipstick in shade 14.

Sorry I can put you a finish look photo, I didn´t take any! But this is one photo with the same look from a while ago, with the exact same products (is one of my favourite looks, as you can see)

Makeup travel bag

Hello everyone!

Well, sorry for the lack of post, I´ve been so busy! But today I´m back with a post that you may like it.

I don´t know if this happens to you, but every single time I have to fly, I hate packing my makeup. I can´t decide what to leave, what to take with me... And normally I pack way more makeup that I need. But, when I travel, I like to take with me on my purse a little bag with the basic stuff that allow me to do my makeup if I need to, and don´t look like a ghost in the middle of the airport.

The first thing you obviously need is a vanity case, but not so big. Mine is a little one that I found a long ago in Primark that have the perfect size for my purse and I can carry everything inside.

One of the things that I think you really need is makeup remover wipes (on travel size, of course!) and some moisturizer cream. I always like to clean my face with one wipe and apply my cream when the flight starts, and keep my skin hydrated for the whole flight.

I like to have too hand wipes to clean my hands after applying my cream. You don´t want to have your hands sticky all the time!

And then, I have my makeup. I do prefer to travel with compact makeup, because for the pressure of the flight, any crystal pot can explode and cause a big mess (that happened to me once, my Studio Fix explode inside my bag, and you can´t imagine how horrible is that!). Because there is usually a big change of temperature inside the plane, I also prefer to take a solid concealer and not liquid (also, one of my liquid concealers got bad on a flight, from that day on, always a solid concealer!). I carry my normal podwer for setting my foundation, a bronzer and a set from MAC that has highlighter and blush on the same box, with a mirror.

Then I have my eyebrow palette (cause I do my eyebrows with eyeshadow), my mascara of the moment and my paint pot from mac that I can use as an eyeshadow. Also I have my lash curler.

And for brushes I have a very tiny travel set from Bobbi Brown, that has every brush that I need and I don´t have to carry the big ones.

If I need to use any eyeshadow, I like to put on my eyebrow palette a neutral one (like Patina or Satine Taupe) a highlighter (Shroom is my all time favourite) and some black (Carbon is the one that I usually take). But if you can carry a big palette, I like to take with me my Naked 2 palette.

For lips, depending on the day, but I like to have a dark color and a gloss, so I can wear whatever I want in that moment (that usually is the darker color)
